Maureen Dean

"He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest."

Date passed: 1st of February 2019

Funeral date: 12th of February 2019

“He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.”

Maureen passed away peacefully in her own home, surrounded by the love of her family, on 1st February, aged 86 years.

The beloved wife of James. Much loved mum of Alan and Carole. Also a cherished gran, great gran and dearest mother-in-law, who will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Maureen was born on 12th May 1932 in Nixons Row, Nantwich. She always had a smile on her face and never had a bad word to say about anybody. She played the piano and loved to sing, there was always plenty of sheet music in her house. She also loved old-time dancing and used to go to Acton Parish hall to learn all the new dances.

Maureen married Jimmy on 4th July 1952 in St. Mary’s Church, Nantwich with their reception at the Parish hall and then honeymooning in Bournemouth.

She would welcome visitors to the family home with open arms, always making sure that there was plenty to eat and drink, apparently she made the best meat and potato pie in Cheshire. But staying loyal to local businesses she loved Chatwin’s produce.

Another of her passions was knitting, a ball of wall and her knitting needles were never far from her side. She picked this talent up from her mother, Maud.

The family would like to thank MacMillan for their compassion and empathy and to the Alzheimer’s Society for their help and advice over the last few years.

Maureen’s funeral will take place on Tuesday 12th February in St. Mary’s church, Nantwich at 11.30am, followed by cremation at Crewe.

Donations in memory of Maureen will be gratefully received on behalf of The Alzheimer’s Society and MacMillan Nurses.
