“You are no more than a thought away.”
Michael passed away at his home on 20th February, aged 77 years.
Brought up in Kent, Michael went to Herne Bay high school.
His father served in the Royal Navy during the Second World War and then went to sea, never to return. This put his mother in a very difficult time which resulted in the children going into care. But Michael always talked about having a happy childhood.
He joined the Merchant Navy when he was fifteen and travelled the world with them. He had many stories to tell, especially when he always ended up in the desert where he would look after the wild cats! It wasn’t all easy though, he had to learn every job that was required of a merchant seaman.
After his years in the Merchant Navy he moved and settled in Crewe.
Michael’s funeral will take place on Thursday 19th March in the Crematorium Chapel, Crewe at 3.15pm, followed by cremation.
Flowers are welcome and donations in memory of Michael will be gratefully received on behalf of the Merchant Navy Benevolent Fund.
