Myra Noyes

There is no night without the dawn, no winter without the spring.

There is no night without the dawn, no winter without the spring.

Myra passed away at Lawton Manor Care Home on 24 April 2020 after being diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis 6 months ago. She was so dearly loved, will be missed so much and will be in our hearts forever.

Myra was born on 31 May 1930 in Sale, Cheshire. She was the second youngest of 8 children: Eric, Stan, Bill,Jack, Wilf, Joyce, Myra and Norma. All of whom have sadly passed away.

She started work at a young age in Woolworths and then moved on to work at Brook Bonds in Manchester where she met her first husband Eddie. When they got married they moved to Brooklands in Sale where they lived for over 25 years and had two children Janette and John. During this time Myra worked at the British Mail Order Corporation in Manchester as a Personnel Manager.

When Myra moved to Putney, London in the 70’s she met Arthur and they immediately fell in love and married soon after meeting. They moved to Crewe to be nearer Myra’s “Northern Family’ where they lived happily in Wistaston. Arthur sadly passed away in February 2014 and Myra was devastated. But being a strong lady she coped and had lots of friends in the area who were a great support to her.

She loved her neighbourhood and made some great friends. She always had time for the children in the area and they knew where to come to get a bar of chocolate from her! She made an impression on everyone she met with her quick wit and sense of humour. In her younger days she would always be first on the dance floor and would be the last one to go to bed. She always had time for people, minding the neighbours children, chatting with neighbours, taking in parcels etc.  But Myra’s greatest love was her family. She was always so generous and thoughtful to them all and she was a fantastic Mum, Nan, Great Nan and Great Aunt. She has made a big hole in our lives that will never be filled.

A small private cremation for immediate family will be held on Monday, 4 May at Crewe crematorium. Janette will be organising a Memorial service to celebrate Myra’s life for her family, friends and neighbours as soon as Coronavirus restrictions are lifted.”

Myra, my Thursdays will never be the same again. You had been coming for hair appointments for over 20 years and each week l looked forward to seeing your smiling face and catching up on your news. Your wit and humour amused us all and l don’t think l could tell any other client that they talked too much as l used to tell you! Over the years you had become a great friend to Jan and l and a pleasure to visit . Even when you were feeling unwell, you were always bright and positive, and it was a delight to be in your company. We will truly miss you God bless, Jan and Roy xx

Aunty Myra it was so lovely to reconnect with you again. I’m afraid families have a tendency to drift apart usually due to location. It was my visiting Aunty Joyce and her constantly talking about you I felt like I was getting to know you a little. It was sadly at her funeral that we actually met. I will always be thankful for that. You and Aunty Joyce had me in stitches telling me stories of when you were young, my dad drawing lines up your legs to look like seamed stockings! etc .You will be leaving a very big hole in a lot of people’s lives. Lots of love your niece Larraine xx

Myra was such a lovely lady, she went out of her way to say hello and comment on how lovely our boys were. I remember her inviting them into her house on Halloween to choose a treat. They thought a lot of her too. Henry would wave and shout hello sweetheart to her which made her laugh. Myra was just a really lovely genuine lady who always had a smile on her face and we will miss her lots.
