Nicholas passed away peacefully in the care of Leighton Hospital on the 4th February aged 81 years, knowing he was loved and cared for by his devoted family.
The beloved husband of Barbara. Dearest dad of Gill, Karen and Paul. Cherished grandad of Kevin, Kate, Gary, Lisa, Luke, Kayley and Alex and great grandad of Gracie-Mai, Lennon, Dylan, Ethan and Neve. Also a dear brother of the late David and loving companion to Susie, the dog. Nick will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Nick was born on Wednesday 9th March 1938 in Lockett Street, Crewe to proud parents Maude and Cyril. He attended Bedford Street and then Shavington schools.
After his education he worked on the railway, in the goods sheds as a messenger and then as a clerk at the Central Depot for British Rail in Crewe. He was a staunch union man.
In his spare time he was a referee in the local football leagues. He also loved fishing and horse racing. Favourite holiday destinations included Jersey, Rhyl and staying at Mrs. Cannon’s in Tynmouth, Devon. Nick also loved his garden and he once won a “Best Garden” award through Wulvern Housing.
Nick was a happy-go-lucky man, both kind and loving.
His funeral will take place on Wednesday 19th February in the Crematorium Chapel, Crewe at 2.30pm, followed by cremation.
Family flowers only please but donations in memory of Nick will be gratefully received on behalf of C.D.U. at Leighton Hospital.
