Ron passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Leighton Hospital on 26th June, aged 90 years.

The beloved husband of the late Laura, to whom he was married for 42 years. Much loved dad of Joyce, Edwin, Pam, Alan, Jenny and Debbie. Also a cherished grandad of Stuart, Louise, Claire, Abbie, Kenny, Christopher, Vicky, Charlotte, Deborah, Melanie, Chloe and Phillip. Loving great grandad of Tommy, CeJay, Olly, Ryan, Lilly, Daniel, Poppy, Rosie, Harlow, Kaiden, Faye, Lucy, Ruby, Paige and Charlie and dearest brother of Ted.

Ron was born on Wednesday 30th January 1929 at 27 Furber Street, Crewe to proud parents Jack and Irene. He went to school at Brierley Street, which at the time was known as The Borough School.

After education he started an apprenticeship in Crewe Works but did not complete it as he was called for his National Service when he was 18.

After being demobbed in 1949 he went on to work for Cooperative Funeral Services as a hearse driver, then on to Dairy Products in Haslington and finally Rolls Royce till 1991 when he took early retirement.

His favourite pastimes included gardening, caravaning and fishing but he also loved being round all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also loved his holidays, especially Margate, Red Wharf Bay on Anglesey and Tenby.

He was a kind, gentle, thoughtful character with an amazing sense of humour and was a great “Mr. Fix-it”.

Ron will be sadly missed but lovingly remebered by everyone who knew him.

Ron’s funeral will take place on Thursday 4th July at St. Mary’s Church, Wistaston at 11.45am, followed by cremation in Crewe crematorium.
