Alan Minshull
“I carry your heart with me.”
Alan sadly passed away in Leighton Hospital on 20th February, aged 68 years.
The beloved husband of Marilyn, Alan will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all his family and friends.
Alan was born on 11th April 1950 in Nantwich, to proud parents Mary and Clarence. He grew up in Weaver Road along with his brothers Brian, Jack, Ray, Stuart and his sisters Pat, Margaret and Deidre.
Alan worked as a roofer all his life and was father to Lisa, Becky, Emily and Russell from a previous marriage.
He loved his sports, watching cricket and Formula One, but his big passion was Liverpool FC. He loved to play darts and it was whilst playing in the Cheese Hall in Crewe that he met his wife Marilyn. They hit it off right away and he also got on great with Marilyn’s six children, Tracey, Peter, Graham, Racheal, Claire and Matthew. They were to marry in 1989.
Over time the family continued to grow, 23 grandchildren – Richard, Daniel, Scott, Vicki, Sam, Jack, Todd, Connor, Megan, Cameron, Oliver, Sky, Thomas, Oscar, Lewis, Sophie, Kyle, Callum, Josh, Beth, Jordan, Anaya and Harley. And seven great grandchildren – Lexi, Reggie, Millie, Teddy, Jaydon, Alfie and Brody. They all meant the world to Alan, he had nicknames for every one of them!
Alan loved the summer, being able to spend more time in his garden, taking pride in his wonderful displays of flowers.
Another of his passions was…..cream cakes! There’s no way Chatwin’s were going out of business with Alan around! And whenever the family were holidaying or had a day trip to Towyn or Rhyl they had to call in at his favourite bakery, Sandiway, to pick up some sweet treats while they were out.
Alan’s family would like to express their gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and staff who looked after him after he was admitted to hospital, especially those on the critical care unit.
His funeral will take place on Wednesday 6th March in the Crematorium Chapel, Crewe at 11.20am, followed by cremation.
Donations in memory of Alan will be gratefully received on behalf of the Critical Care Unit in Leighton Hospital.

I have lost all my relations and both parents so I understand..
I wish you healing and strength and that you remember the good times.
