Peacefully on Tuesday 27th December in the care of the UHNS, surrounded by the love of her family, Barbara aged 80 years.
The dear wife of the late Richard, loving mum of Graham and Neil. Treasured nan of Lee, Stacy, Kate, Kirsty, Alex, Thapthai (Richard), Sam and Neo. Also a beloved great nan of Lewis, Daniel and Kian and a cherished sister of Brian, Gordon and the late Betty.
Barbara was born in Alvaston and brought up firstĀ in Albert Street, Crewe and later in Leighton on a smallholding, where she assisted with the work and developed an understanding and knowledge of the world of animals and plants which was to play out in the rest of her life. She loved flowers and gardening and always head a well kept garden. Barbara was described by her family as honest, loyal, faithful, resilient, independent and thrifty. She hadĀ a reputation for hard work and expected the same from others. She enjoyed a full and fulfilling life right up to the end – being a keen traveller, holidaying in Spain, the USA, Thailand and other parts of Europe. Barbara’s family brought her great happiness. She was married to the late Richard for nearly 50 years and was very proud of her two sons, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Barbara’s funeral will take place on Thursday 11th January at 11.20am in Crewe Crematorium Chapel.
Fondly remembered as good friends to my parents and ourselves as children. I would like to pass on my condolences to Neil and Graham and their families at this sad time.
