Barry Thomas Francis Evanson

"We are so proud of you, we will miss you forever."

Date passed: 29th of November 2018

“We are so proud of you, we will miss you forever.”

Barry peacefully passed away on 29th November in the Royal Stoke University Hospital, aged 63 years.

Beloved husband of Bridget, loving father of Megan and Tom, cherished grandad of Emily and James and a dear brother.

Barry was born in Nantwich to proud parents, Maeve and Ron and the family lived on the Wistaston Green estate in Crewe. He attended St. Mary’s Primary school and the Blessed John Sherd High School.

From an early age he loved to go cycling, often pedalling for miles, sometimes as far away as Beeston. He also spent a lot of his childhood in Liverpool visiting relatives.

His first job was collecting glasses in the Cheshire Cat, which led to him doing some DJ work there a couple of nights a week. He loved his music and going to gigs, he carried this love throughout his life, eventually passing it on to his own children.

Barry met Bridget at Wistaston Manor and did most of their courting at the Cheshire Cat, eventually getting engaged on the car park on Christmas Eve! They married at St. Mary’s RC Church in Crewe and spent their honeymoon in Bala, North Wales.

Three years after they married Megan was born, followed by Tom, two years later. He was an amazing dad and always made time for the children, offering plenty of advice when asked.

Family holidays were full of wonderful memories, from trips into Wales and a main holiday when the family went touring in North America.

A couple of proud moments in his life came when he walked Megan down the aisle on her wedding day and attending Tom’s graduation at Liverpool John Moores university, plus of course, the birth of his two grandchildren.

Barry’s funeral will take place in Crewe Crematorium Chapel on Friday 21st December at 12.40pm.

Any donations in his memory will be for the valuable work of the British Heart Foundation.

Lovely, cheeky Barry. I have happy memories sharing time together, relaxing on the fields at Blessed John Sherd with fellow class friends after our exams. He was one of the boys that gave me my nickname which is still with me today. His fun nature and memorable smiles will continue to lift me, a special person, who was my privilege to know and share in our school years. God bless you and your family. yasy xxx

Your Dad was one of the best, he helped me out when I needed help getting my kids to and from school. He was always a great person to have around you and work with, he just made the days go so much quicker by his conversation. Having gone to school with Tom and my dad going to school with Barry he was always happy to help and give me advise when I needed it. Such a great guy, he will be sadly missed by everyone he introduced into his life.
My thoughts are with you, Tom, your mum and the rest of your family. RIP Barry.

Sorry for your loss. I worked with Barry for a short period at Return on Investment Ltd in Nantwich. Barry never failed to put a smile on my face and we always had great chats about football with us both being Liverpool fans. He always spoke fondly of Bridget, his children and grandchildren. Rest in peace Barry!
