Wonderful was your love for us, You are in our hearts forever
Carol passed away on 4th April in the care of Leighton Hospital after a sudden and unexpected illness. Carol was born in Nantwich in the January of 1959 to her now deceased parents Ann-Ellen and Richard Tegfan Williams. A few years earlier, her parents had settled in Crewe after from Anglesey, North Wales along with Carol’s older brother Terry (also deceased). Carol remained very close to her Welsh family and was extremely proud of her heritage.
Carol met her beloved husband Graham at the age of 16 and they married in Crewe Green in 1981. They have been together for 44 years and will have been married for 39 years this month. They have three children together – Ceri, Emma and Marc who she loved dearly. She was also a loving and devoted grandmother to her four grandchildren, Isla (6), Jacob (4), Evie (2) and Alex (1). She loved sharing stories about all of them and was immensely proud of all they have individually achieved. Carol had a thoughtful and caring nature. This was evident throughout her career as a Registered General Nurse but also felt by her family and friends, whose needs she would often put before her own. She touched so many people throughout her life and will be remembered for being social and for her love of making other’s smile.
In her nursing career, she dedicated over 30 years working for Leighton Hospital in Crewe before later moving on to work for the South Cheshire Private Hospital. She retired in 2019. She was a passionate, caring and hard working nurse who was liked and respected by both her patients and her colleagues. She was incredibly proud of her profession and in particular her contribution serving the NHS.
Aside from her family, Carol loved the sunshine and being outdoors and took pleasure in gardening and walking. She was an enthusiastic music and comedy fan, and enjoyed the many live events her and Graham attended together. Her love of music was also demonstrated through playing the guitar and the piano. She was a keen reader, with a penchant for autobiographies. She enjoyed keeping fit and was a keen member of her gym, taking part in regular Zumba and yoga classes. She also enjoyed to travel with Graham and all the family have many happy memories of her from their shared holidays together.
A small funeral service for the immediate family will be held at Crewe crematorium on Monday 20th April. Graham, Ceri, Emma and Marc are planning for a larger gathering to celebrate Carol’s life which would be attended by family, friends and ex-work colleagues, once coronavirus restrictions are lifted.
Rather than flowers, the family will be arranging a collection for Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charitable Fund. For those that would like to donate in Carol’s name, donations can also be made via the JustGiving Page

- Approved by oconnellI play in a band and that is how we know each other. Carol loves listening to bands play because of her love for music, we spoke and had a lovely conversation about all the local bands she knows, that was about 19 years ago.
We also shared a passion for spirituality and spoke about meditation and what books we were reading on the subject.

Dear little Carol, how cruel was your passing,. Why could we not have had one last hug, one last kiss, one chance to remember old times, how many times you asked me to tell you a story, to relate bits and pieces of family history, the good and the bad, tales of your dad who died when you were only twelve years old… I console myself by knowing that all our missed opportunities will be made good some other time, some other place. For now Eurwen and I and all my family miss you so much and will always cherish the joy of having been part of your life…. We love you…
- Approved by oconnellI loved Carol- she was my fabulous first cousin. I was one of her bridesmaids at her and Graham’s wedding.
- Approved by oconnellWe are all deeply shocked and devastated as a family by her passing. She meant a great deal to us and we knew how proud she was of her Welsh roots and how much all her family meant to her. She was a loyal, kind and beautiful person. She made anyone who was in her company feel beautiful too. Above all she was an honest person who loved life and gave generously of her love to others without expecting anything in return. She will be missed greatly and will always be alive in our hearts and minds. I’ll finish like we both always did in all the texts and messages we sent each other- Love you fave cousin, Sian xxx

Dear Carol, I only knew you briefly through going to the gym but you made a deep impression. We always had a laugh and you were so caring and concerned when I faced a major operation in 2018. I’ll always remember that lovely hug you gave me when we met on my return back to the gym months later, it was so lovely to be welcomed back in that way.
