A Golden Heart Stopped Beating, Hard Working Hands at Rest

Carol was welcomed into the world on 4th April 1948, the youngest of five children born to Elsie and Richard Stockton.  Carol enjoyed a loving and close relationship with her three sisters, Maureen, Linda and Beryl and her older brother the late Michael.

Carol never flew far from the nest, Elsie gave birth to her daughter at home in William Street, she attended Brierley School and after starting married life living with her dear parents, Carol and her beloved husband John then got a flat in Crewe where they became proud parents to Samantha and Martin.  They moved to Sycamore Avenue around 1972 and although many happy years were spent there.

Carol was delighted when she and John moved back to her roots, directly opposite her old school; round the corner from where her childhood home stood.  Carol and John have enjoyed twenty-two wonderful years in Mirion Street.  Carol was a devoted nan to Ryan and Katie, Britney and Ellie.  Nan and granddad’s house was Ryan and Katie’s ‘second home’, Carol was always available for childcare whilst Samantha and Neil worked and both nan and granddad were thrilled when the next generation came along, their great grandson, Logan.

Carol had various jobs when she was younger but after marrying the love of her life, she settled into the role she loved most, a devoted wife, loving mum, nan and great nan whose life revolved around her family.

To John, his darling wife was his world, to Sam her mum was truly her best friend, to Martin, his mum was his rock, to her grandchildren she was the most amazing nan, to her family she was their beautiful sister and to everyone Carol was a wonderful person with a heart of solid gold.  A lady who gave everyone faith in human nature.  Carol will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

    My beautiful Nan,

It hurts so much that you are gone, but you will never really be gone so long as I’m alive as you will always love in my heart.

Thank you isn’t enough. You’ve given me the most beautiful childhood and allowed me to have so many special memories with you which is all I have left now. But I will always think of them with a big smile on my face because we always had a laugh.

I love you forever, and ever my perfect Nan. Rest in peace now ❤️ Xxxx
