Colin Brian Phillip Chesters “Col”

"A million words won't bring you back, we know because we've tried. Neither will a million tears, we know because we've cried."

Date passed: 7th of March 2019

Funeral date: 21st of March 2019

“A million words won’t bring you back, we know because we’ve tried. Neither will a million tears, we know because we’ve cried.”

Colin sadly passed away at Leighton Hospital surrounded by the love and care of his family, aged just 43 years.

Dearest dad of Harrison. The beloved son of Geoff and the late Paula. Cherished brother of Julie, Mandy, Martin and Ruth. A loving partner to Sally, Col will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Colin was born in Crewe on 31st March, 1975. He attended Wistaston Green Infant and Junior school, where he was very popular with his peers, who called him ” The Milky Bar Kid”. After school he would play in the street, on his blue chopper bike, making ramps and doing bike stunts, with his friends. Later he attended Kings Grove High School where he became very popular with the girls. Colin enjoyed sports, including  karate, hence his name “Ninj”. He loved music and would play his guitar and keyboard in his bedroom. When he left school he became an apprentice joiner , something he really enjoyed. The family later moved to Shavington where Colin, his dad and his friend Craig used to visit “The Vine” at the weekends.  Colin started his own business with his friend Wayne and his younger brother. After a few years they went their separate ways.

At 25 or 26 years old Colin met a girl, and after a while, his son Harrision was born. Colin loved Harrison dearly but sadly the relationship with Harrison’s mother broke down. He later met Sally who loved and cared for him through his illness, until the end. He adored his neices and nephews and idolised his late mother, sadly, never really coming to terms with her loss. Colin was a kind, generous, creative and loving person who helped anyone in need.

His funeral will take place on Thursday 21st March at the Crematorium Chapel, Crewe at 12noon, followed by cremation.

My nephew Col, can’t believe i’m writing this. Life’s so cruel, we sat beside your bedside, our hearts were crushed and sore, we did our duty till the end, till we could do no more, in tears we watched you sinking we watched you fade away, and though our hearts were breaking, we knew you could not stay. Goodnight Col, sleep tight, love you loads. Maria, Jimmy and girls xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Those special memories of you will always bring a smile, if only I could have you back just for a little while, then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do, you always meant so very much and always will do too, the fact that you are no longer here will always bring me pain, but you’re forever in my heart until we meet again. True gentleman to me, from the first time we met, we were friends to the end.
So glad you got to meet Anwen, as she was glad to meet you.
We had great times together from start to now.
Off to see the angels who we truly miss, but I know for sure you will be one of the first on my list, that thought brings me happiness that they have the company of you.
God bless you my friend, Colin (ninja), peace to you. I’ll miss our jamming sessions.
