Doris passed away peacefully in the care of Leighton Hospital on 22nd February aged 88 years, knowing that she was loved.
The beloved wife of Geoff. Dearest mum of Michael, Alan, Graham, Robert, Paul and Anthony. Also a cherished nan of Vickie, Zoe, Farrah, Gemma, Elliott and Jack, great grandma of Maisy, Ollie and Freddie, a loving sister of Len, Tom, Vin, Mary and the late Doreen, Den, Margarate and Barbara and dear sister-in-law. Doris will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Doris was born on Sunday 24th May 1931 to proud parents Len and Doris Woodbridge. She attended St. Mary’s school in Crewe and after education worked in the family business and as a carer before her retirement on 24th May 1991.
She was a volunteer for S.V.P. and also in her spare time she loved knitting and being a full time grandmother. Every year her and Geoff would travel throughout the UK holiday. They also enjoyed vacations in Germany, Spain, Holland and also three trips to California and and adventure tour across the USA, travelling from Boston in the east to San Francisco in the west.
The family would like to pass on their gratitude to all family and friends for the compassion and love shown by them at this difficult time.
Doris’ coffin will repose in church the night before her funeral at 5.30pm.
A requiem mass for Doris will be held in St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception RC Church, Crewe on Thursday 5th March at 12 noon, followed by cremation.
