Gwynneth Jones, nee Prydderch, passed away peacefully in the care of Winsford Grange Nursing Home, loved and supported by her family, aged 91 years.

Devoted wife of the late Robert, loving mum of Janet, Barbara and Ken. Cherished nan and nanny who is loved and remembered with affection by all who knew her.

Gwynneth was born in Rhosllannerchrugog, near Wrexham, on 16th February 1926. She went in to service on the Wirral at the age of 14 for two years, then joining the Woman’s Land Army, working on farmland and later working in a munitions factory for the war effort.

After the war she met her late husband Robert Denzil Jones ‘Den’ and they were married in 1950. They had four children, Janet, Brian, Barbara and Kenneth, Brian sadly died aged 42.

The family moved from Wales to Wynbunbury in 1964 and Gwynneth and Den remained in their beloved house in Dig Lane until ill health in their later years meant a move to a care home was necessary.

Gwynneth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and the matriarch of five generations of girls.

Gwynneth was a feisty but kind-hearted woman who had great resolve. She was very much loved by all her family and friends and will be sadly missed.

The family wish to thank all the staff at Winsford Grange nursing home, especially Kirstie and Chantelle who were close to Gwynneth.

Gwynneth’s funeral will take place on Tuesday 12th December at St. Chad’s Church in Wynbunbury at 1100am, followed by cremation at Crewe crematorium chapel.

Family flowers only please. Donations in Gwynneth’s memory to Alzheimer’s Society (Crewe).

    You were a great mother, very supportive, loving and caring. Always thinking about us and wanting the best for us. You were much loved by us all.

    Fond memories of a wonderful mother. She was always there for me when I needed her. Ill miss her very much. She is now with her beloved husband “Den” together now for always.
