Jacqueline Patricia Surridge ‘Jackie’
“Sad are the hearts that love you. Silent the tears that fall.”
Jackie was born on 27th December 1956.
She was the most loving mum of Gemma, Daniel and Nicholas, also a cherished grandma of Oscar and Daniel.
Sadly on 13th February 2021, Jackie passed away at home aged 64 years
As well as being a loving mum to Gemma, Dan and Nick, Jackie was a cherished grandma to Oscar and Daniel, a much-loved daughter to Brenda, she loved her late dad Leslie, but was also fond of her stepdad Ricky. She was a treasured sister of Michael and Julie, sister-in-law to Joy and Paul, she was an auntie, she will be sadly missed.
She could be stubborn, but she was lovable and loved by everyone, cheeky with a wicked sense of humour, she was extremely artistic and creative and had a sewing and craft room at home, fully kitted out with every craft gadget imaginable. She loved to make Roman Blinds and Curtains and although she was qualified in interior design, she lacked in confidence when it came to showcasing her talents and too soft hearted to ask a fair price even if she had!
She was outgoing in so many other ways and her medical team described her as an extrovert, positive, determined, and resilient. Her resilience was no more apparent than with her determination to beat cancer. The doctors were immensely proud of how incredibly strong willed she was, as were the family when we were chatting about her.
Jackie was the eldest of three born to Brenda and Leslie. Born and bred in Crewe, she attended Brierley Street school where she used to hold concerts in the lunch break, charge ten pence admission then donate the proceeds to charity. She was well known for her Rod Stewart impersonations.
She was a bubbly character, loved going out with her friends and used to dance the night away. After her three children, Gemma, Dan and Nick were born, Jackie had various jobs, but she found her ideal role in life when she started at Alternative Futures, supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health issues and was proud to collect her ten-year service award.
Her funeral will take place on 26th February at Crewe Crematorium.
