***************************************************************************************************************************

Jackie was welcomed into the world in 1955 and living in Crewe with her parents
Jack and May Vickers, much loved brothers Peter, John and the late Michael, she
had a contented childhood, attended West Street and Ludford Street schools and
was always very proud of being a West Ender.
Jackie met and married Steve and had two children together. She was a loving
mum to Tiffany and Wayne then when they grew up and had families of their own,
she became a grandmother to Aaron, Josh, Bradley and Max and fondly known as
Ninny or nan. She was also a great grandmother to Noah.
She had a passion for cats and would feed any strays and she also loved listening to
music. Well before she had music systems, she always had the radio on and in the
Summer, it seems she would have the windows open with music blaring.
When she got a record player, she played the old vinyl records and later progressed
to CDs, hundreds of them including many compilation albums even though they all
seemed to have the same songs but in a different order and with a different picture
on the cover. Jackie also loved listening to boy bands so bought many CDs
featuring bands like Westlife, Boyzone and Take That and she also went to many of
their concerts. She always used to watch and tape Top of The Pops, shown on BBC
on Thursday nights at 7pm.
Jackie enjoyed many holidays with her brother Peter, his wife Jeannie and cousins
Fran and Dave as well as going away with friends. She was also a party animal and
loved dancing, normally the first on the dance floor and the last to leave it.
Jackie worked at Leighton Hospital and was committed to her job as a Domestic
Supervisor although illness caused her to take early retirement. For years, she ran a
tight ship and was held in great esteem by all those who had the privilege of working
with her and even though she expected the same standards from her colleagues,
she was well liked and made many good friends.
Jackie was a popular lady, loved by family and friends, she was particularly close to
Steve’s mother Mary and also her daughter in law Jane.
As Jackie’s illness progressed, she required dedicated care and in 2018, she went
into Bentley Manor Care Home where she was cared for and loved by all the staff
until the end of her life.
Peter says that Jackie now has her own dance floor in heaven, reunited with friends
and family but she will always have a place in the hearts of those left behind, their
very own dancing queen.

May she rest in rest.
