“You are no more than a thought away”
Janet passed away on the 25th April 2018 in St. Luke’s Hospice, Winsford. The beloved wife of the late Melvyn, much loved mum of Steve and Ian. Also a cherished nana and great nana who will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all her family and friends.
Janet was born in Linden Grange, Crewe to parents Elizabeth and John. She attended Adelaide School and Kings Grove Girls School. At 15 she started work at The Grove Children’s Home in Penkhull. At the weekends she went home to help the family specially her younger sister Jeannie. She met her husband Melvyn whilst on holiday with her friend Sue. Janet and Melvyn were married in 1967. They had two children, Stephen and Ian. They lived in Mow Cop for a while but there true family home was in Crewe.
Janet loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was very proud of them all. She worked for Rosedale Manor and made many great friends at Tesco. She was a very kind and caring person looking after anyone in need. She also loved wildlife and always kept the wildlife in her garden well fed.
Her funeral will take place on Thursday 3rd May in the Crematorium Chapel in Crewe at 10.40am.
