John Christopher Edge

“No need for words except to say, loved and remembered every day.”

John sadly passed away on the 11th December in the care of Leighton Hospital, aged just 62 years, surrounded by the love and care of his family. He will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all his family and friends.

John was born on the 7th April 1957 here in Crewe to parents Thomas and Ann. John’s seven siblings being Mary, Pat, Mick, Christine, Katie, Rosie and Maggie, sadly, Mary and Pat are no longer with us. In 1975 John was at the old Crewe Alex Club and it was here that he met the love of his life, young Jayne Cooper. They were married in 1979 at St Andrew’s Church in Bedford Street.   Their marriage was a very happy one of 40 years and from that happiness came four children Steph, Beccy, Lisa and Jonty. John and Jayne have 11 grandchildren Kayleigh, Lauren, Natasha, Joshua, Cameron, Olivia, Cian, Connor, Bradley, Kyle and Isabella. They also have 2 great grandchildren Imogen and Jackson. A third, Mason-John, is due in March. Crewe and the town has been his home all his life, even though in 2015 he moved to what he called the Village of Haslington and loved every minute there.

Jayne and John will be remembered by many as they ran a number of local clubs and pubs over the years including the Crosville Club and the Royal Scott pub.

He was an amazing family man who was funny with a beautiful soul. He was an inspiration to his family and a legend too. He was a very caring and generous man and a best mate to so many of his family. He was a man who loved his food too.

John’s biggest hobby was his family. John was a true family man.

A service to celebrate John’s life will take place on Tuesday 7th January in the Crematorium Chapel, Crewe at 11.30am, followed by cremation.
