Joseph Wyndham Tempest – Mitchell
"What we have once enjoyed we can never lose, all that we love becomes deeply a part of us."
Date passed: 17th of September 2022
Funeral date: 10th of October 2022
“What we have once enjoyed we can never lose, all that we love becomes deeply a part of us.”
Joseph passed away peacefully in his sleep on 17th September aged 22 years.
The beloved grandson of Lucy, devoted brother of Jasmin. and cherished nephew of aunty Carol.
Joseph Wyndham Tempest Mitchell, lovingly known to most as Joe but to Lucy he
was a beloved grandson who was comically very astute and would call her mum to
his advantage – when he wanted something!
He is and always will be cherished by his younger sister Jasmin although there was
only twenty-three months and three weeks between them, they were incredibly close
and the best of friends and he was very fond of Sophie, very much a sister to Joe
and Jasmin.
He loved his dad, Richard, and mum Laura sadly he hadn’t had the opportunity of
seeing either of them for a time.
He had extended family and made friends in different places; he was special to
Andrew who was very much an uncle and adored his Auntie Carol and his late Uncle
Wilf. They used to look after Joe in Leeds, he was always playing and laughing and
incredibly bright with a desire to fix anything, even taking things apart just to
reassemble them and sometimes it involved a roll of Sellotape.
Equipped with his own Bob the Builder tool kit, he regularly followed Uncle Wilf
around helping and copying his handywork.
Auntie Carol used to try everything to comfort and settle him off for the night but
could never get him to sleep and even after singing song after song, the only person
lulled off to the land of nod was Auntie Carol!
On 18 th December 2004 at the age of five, and after a brief spell at school in Leeds
Joe came to Crewe with his sister Jazz and started a new life with Grandma Lucy.
He went to Broad Street then transferred to Oakfield School on Holland Street before
starting at Shavington High and finally at Kings Grove.
His short years were affected by illness, but he battled to get better –with unfailing
love and support from Lucy, Auntie Carol and Jazz who all believed he could achieve
his potential.
Joseph’s funeral will take place at The Birches Crematorium, Northwich on Monday 10th October at 1pm.
No flowers by request. Donations in memory of Joe will be welcome for Papyrus.
