Joyce passed away in Leighton Hospital on the 9th February, aged 89 years. The beloved wife of Bob. Also a cherished sister to Geoff and dearest Aunty and friend, who will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her.
Joyce was born on Monday, the 29th of September 1930,to proud parents Harold and Evelyn in Crewe. She moved to Reddish, near Stockport when she was about 8 years old to go and live with her aunt. She is survived by her younger brother Geoff and her devoted husband Bob, who she was married to for 55 years. Joyce met Bob while he lodged at her families home. She was a dearest auntie to Ashley, Susan and Christine. After leaving school Joyce worked for Haldens in Manchester, the train manufacturer. She also worked for B.A.C.Systems as a drafts woman, spending her final working years at Radway Green,the Royal ordinance factory, in the draft and development office. Retiring at 60, Joyce and Bob took the opportunity to travel to many exotic places. Penang, In Malaysia was one of her favourite places, also the Seychelles, visiting their conservation program for the great giant turtles. Describing Joyce as a cheerful, smiling, kind lady, who’s drawings have to be seen to be appreciated for their detail and skill. Joyce was a real lady,hard-working and confident. It is the memories of some great adventures that will stay in the hearts of her family.
