“She died as she lived with love and grace”

Judith passed peacefully away on Tuesday 2nd July in Leighton Hospital, aged 75 years. The beloved wife of Bernard, whom she was married to for 46 years, dearest mum of Sarah and Victoria and loving sister of Robert, Patrick and Moira, who will be greatly missed and remembered with affection by all who knew her.

Judy was born on Sunday 22nd August 1943 to proud parents Robert and Florence Blackman in East Ham, London. She attended St. Edwards Roman Catholic Junior School and then went on to St. Angela’s Convent.

She had a few different jobs, her last main job was working at Broad Street Infants School in Crewe as the school secretary where she retired in 2003.

Judy had many hobbies, including gardening, crown green bowling and watching television, favourite programmes including Antiques Roadshow and the QVC Channel. She also enjoyed her holidays, going abroad and also North Wales, especially Anglesey and The Lake District.

Bernard and the girls would like to thank the following for all their sympathy, help and support during this difficult time, The Critical Care Unit at Leighton, Father’s Jerome and Tony, Joe O’Connell and everyone who has sent cards and messages of sympathy.

Judy’s Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday 17th July at 12.00 noon in St Anne’s RC Church, Nantwich, followed by cremation.

Donations in memory of Judy will be gratefully received on behalf of LATH and The Stroke Association.
