“What though the radiance which was once so bright, be now forever taken from my sight.”
Kath sadly passed away on the 22nd April at home, knowing she was loved and cared for, aged 65 years.
The beloved wife of Peter, whom she was married to for 43 years, much loved mum of Clare. Also a dearest nana of Henry and the late baby Joel, sister and friend to many who will be so sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Kath was born on Wednesday 21st April 1954 to proud parents Bob and Betty Flood. She was one of three children, along with her brother, Andrew and her sister, Sally.
Kath went to Edleston Road and King’s Grove Schools. She was always popular with fellow pupils and teachers alike, she was a kind girl with many friends. She also went to college after school and during her working life she spent time as a teacher’s assistant, a nursery nurse and a child minder. She was a patient person and loved to see children excel.
Her hobbies including cooking and baking and family holidays were important, they holidayed all over England and Wales and had a particularly memorable trip to Ireland.
After her retirement nine years ago they had a lovely holiday on the island of Porta Santo in Portugal, she also had an annual trip over to France to visit her dear friends Sue and Doug, who she missed terribly when they left England.
Kath’s funeral will take place on Friday 3rd May at St. Mary’s Church, Wistaston at 2.30pm, followed by cremation.
Donations in Kath’s memory will be gratefully received on behalf of Wards 201 and 202 at the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

- Approved by oconnellI was so lucky to have found and met Kath, who was childminder to all 3 of my children, Olivia, Edward and Eleanor, they’ve all grown up but still all have such happy memories of the time they spent with her, she was such a kind and compassionate person, and I had no qualms leaving my children in her care, an absolute gem, who will be sadly missed but not forgotten!! Thinking of you all at this sad time, and sorry I won’t be able to be there on Friday xx
