Ken (Simmy) Simcock

“Listening for your footfall. You aren’t gone, you walk within us”

Peacefully  in his sleep, on the 11th December in Leighton Hospital,  Ken aged 75 years.

The beloved husband of Tessa, a dear dad of  Tracy, Ken-John, Richard and Hayley. A treasured grandad of Daniel, Yasmin, Holly, Kerry, Kelly-Ann, Katie, Kayleigh, Kirsty, Ollie, Henry, Paddy, Josh and Ethan.  A cherished great grandad of Axl, Gunnar, Melody, Drew Jr, Samuel and Lily-Ann. And a loving brother of David and Phillip.

Ken was born in Wistaston and was a bright boy at school and excelled in mathematics which was to prove valuable in his working life later on.

After School he trained as  a draftsman, enjoying the challenge of designing and solving mathematical problems. Ken worked his way up and became a well respected Chief Jig and Tool Designer for Rolls Royce.

He and Tessa were married in 1965 and went on to have a large family.

Ken was a keen music fan and loved walking/hiking to relax. He had many holidays and would often be heard chatting to strangers on the other side of the world asking them to call in if they ever visited Crewe.

Recently he has been cared for through his final illness by the patient and supportive staff of ward 4 at Leighton Hospital, Ken’s family are grateful for all they did.

Ken’s funeral will take place on Tuesday 19th December in Crewe Crematorium Chapel at 12noon.
