Kenny was much loved by his son Kevin, daughter in law Kerry and grandson
Connor. Very much a dad to Marshall, a cherished brother to Christine, Linda,
Maggie, David, Alan, his drinking buddy Keith and the late Robert. He was a dear
brother-in-law, had many nephews and nieces, was a great uncle and good friend to
many.
Kenny was a dabber, one of eight children born to Doris and Donald, he arrived on
the 14th September 1953 in the Barony and lived in Nantwich for most of his life.
He was a self-employed builder and Brian’s trusted business partner for over forty
years. Kenny was a ‘man’s man’ who rarely showed emotion or affection, nor did he
give hugs, but he had a heart of pure gold. Always ready to help, he was everyone’s
right hand man and demonstrated his love simply by being generous with his time
and was always willing to lend money. He was always available with his van and
could be relied upon to picked stuff up, dispose of anything, he fixed things, always
willing to help anyone and incredibly supportive.
He was a cheeky soul and people were normally unsure if he was joking or being
serious. He was never intentionally nasty but didn’t mince his words and sometimes
when he was outspoken, Kerry regularly used to think, “OMG has he really just said
that?”
But Kevin said he was essentially a quiet, extremely private man who masked a lack
of confidence by his manner, he used sarcasm as a way of communication, but
everyone accepted it and rose to the challenge knowing it was the way to be with
him and he was incredibly stubborn!
He always enjoyed a pint in the Double Neck Swan until it closed then more recently
frequented the Vine. He was fairly reserved in certain circumstances but loved to
dance and when a song came on he liked, he would be one of the first up.
He also liked a bit of sea fishing when he was younger and he played in a darts and
dominoes team for many years with his brothers and sisters and although all the
siblings got on well, he was particularly close to Keith, Janet and their family and
enjoyed many holidays with them.
His ideal life generally consisted of: up for work early, back from work, watch a
western, a pint at the pub, out in the evenings or weekends with friends – drinking
buddy Keith, darts and dominoes but most of all being with his family.

May he rest in peace
