**********************************************************************************************************

Kevin was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, he had a great
sense of humour although it erred on the dark side, and he sometimes wasn’t PC but
he was a really good man who would do anyone a good turn.
He was incredibly talkative and having been a market trader for many years, he had
certainly seen life! had an interesting life as a market trader, as did the generations
before him, as Lyn can also say, working on the markets, you do see life!
Kevin was Linda’s beloved husband, a devoted dad to the late Karen and Michael
and close to Linda’s son Ray, his daughter in law Nik and a much-loved grandad to
Robbie and Jayden.
Born on 9th June 1939 in Walsall, he had a happy childhood with six brothers and
one sister, but Kevin sadly lost them all before they reached the age of seventy. His
mum was a housewife and his dad a steelworker.
Whilst Kevin was at school he had a part time job in a bakery, they clearly thought he
was a good worker as they took him on full time when he was fifteen. He later joined
the army assigned to the 16th Para Brigade and he loved it.
He was still in the army when he married and had Karen and Michael then due to
family circumstances, with great sadness, he left his chosen career. He briefly
worked for Pedley and Richards before starting as a Market Trader. In his younger
days, Kevin was a Sunday School Teacher but after losing both his daughter and
son, he questioned his beliefs.
His life turned a corner after meeting Lyn twenty-five years ago, they lived for a short
time in Nantwich then had a fresh start when they moved to Splash Point in Rhyl
where they continued to work as market traders, made lots of good friends and had
brilliant neighbours and of course living by the sea, they had plenty of visits from
family and friends.
Lyn has fond memories of the fabulous New Years eve parties they hosted for
everyone and remembers how Kevin always loved going to the theatre to see tribute
bands emulate his favourite singers Tina Turner, Queen and Status Quo.
After losing several loved ones within a short period of each other, Lyn and Kevin
realised life was so very precious and unpredictable so they should move abroad
whilst they still had their health and with no regrets, they sold their beautiful
bungalow fully furnished. With just three suitcases between them, they got Ray and
Robbie to take them to the airport and having booked return tickets for two weeks
later, they boarded the flight to Bulgaria to find out if it was a place they would like to
live. All their family and friends thought they were joking and would be on the flight
home, however, they returned home ten years later, having never regretted their
impulsive but brave move to a country they had never even visited before!
They both settled, made new friends and had a good lifestyle but ten years later, Lyn
was still missing home so they made the same impulsive decision as they had ten
years before but this time, they packed up most of their belongings into a van driven
by a friend, they gave the house keys to an estate agent with instructions to sell it
and another friend drove their car home with their dog Roxy.

Initially they rented a refurbished cottage whilst trying to live permanently then some
relations recommended Home Farm Park at Church Minshull. So a new chapter
began four years ago, in delightful surroundings and with plenty of people for Kevin
to chat to whilst walking Roxy.
Kevin had a fulfilled and happy life, full of impulse, fun and adventure with bucket
loads of love and laughter. He enjoyed every minute of it particularly the last twenty-
five years with Lyn.

May he rest in peace.
