************************************************************************************************************

Born on 4th May 1959 in the Barony Hospital in Nantwich, Linda was one of five children born to her
parents Freda and Arthur.
Sadly her sister Rhona and brother Shane have predeceased her but she is survived by Glenys and
John.
David told me that they first met when he was working at the car wash on Brooklyn Street. They
were both very young just 16 and 17 years old but they were determined that they would be
together. They dated for a while before moving in together and setting up their home. They were
married at Crewe Registry Office on 3rd June 1977.
David told me that Linda was his best friend and a loving wife. They had a wonderful life together
even when Linda became very ill. They always tried to do things together and she always enjoyed
the time they spent together or with the family: Zoe, Terry, Lisa, Dwane, Zara and Gemma – not
forgetting son in law Tony whom they cared for very much and he was a great help to them both.
Linda always made sure that David was up for work on time and sent him on his way with a flask of
hot tea and plenty of cigarettes to see him through the day.
Whilst he was out at work she would tidy the house and make sure the children were fed and there
was always a hot meal on the table when he returned home at the end of the day.
Gemma told me that when they were growing up her mum always took care of them all. She had a
heart of gold, and nothing ever phased her – she accepted things as they were and never questioned
what she had, she was always happy and contented.
Linda took Lisa, Zara and Gemma troupe dancing. She loved to watch them go through their routines
in competitions at a weekend.
She was delighted when Lisa told her she was pregnant and that she would soon be a Nanna for the
first time – but it didn’t end there! Gemma discovered she was having a baby a few months later and
Linda was present at the birth of her second grandchild. She was overjoyed to be involved in such an
amazing time.
Eventually David and Linda welcomed eleven grandchildren into the family: Shannon, Courtney,
Kian, Tyler, Cameron, Jasmine, Tiffany, Emily, Lily, Mia and Layla.
What an incredible family and what a legacy to leave behind her.
She was always aware of the people around her and if she could help you in any way she would. She
lived for what she could do for others, but she never looked for thanks and never expected any
rewards for her help.
Linda was always willing to help others and could be relied upon to brighten the day of those around
her. She was a beautiful person inside and out.
Linda’s favourite place was Blackpool, it didn’t matter if she got there for a week, for a few days, or
even towards the end of her life she visited for just a few hours – she loved everything about it, the
Tower, the fun fair, the beach and the lights, they all added to the magic of the place.

She was very artistic and enjoyed a number of different craft activities including knitting and doing
cross stitch pictures.

May she rest in peace.
