At Leighton Hospital on the 21st March, Livingstone passed peacefully away, aged 81 years. The beloved partner of the late Eldora. Also a much loved dad, grandad, brother, friend and cricketer for many teams in the town.

Livingstone was born to proud parents Imogene and Jonathan on Wednesday 9th September 1936 in Barbados. He was a playful child and well liked by his peers. He went to school in St George, Barbados, about six miles from the capital, Bridgetown. He came from a close knit family. In 1953 when he was seventeen years old, he left the sunshine beaches and home in Barbados for a life in the railway town of Crewe. He found work in this thriving town easily with his good nature and committment to hard work.

Livy, Critch and Bruno are all names friends knew him by, probably depending where he worked ! He worked in the North Sheds of British Rail as a good crane driver for many years. Other jobs included John Stevens at Middlewich, as a delivery driver, caring for those around him. He retired at 65 but still kept working full and part time into his seventies. Besides his children and grandchildren he loved cricket and played at county level as well as for Crewe Cavaliers, Rolls Royce, British Rail and the P.Way, Crewe. “You were in with a great chance with Livingstone on your side”. He loved sports including  football, “Liverpool” also cars, his beloved bingo and everything his grandchildren did, including watching them dancing.

He was always proud of his children, Clairemonte, Livingstone, Tracy and Anne- Louise and his cherished grandchildren, Tiahna, Tyrese, Dondre, Romehl, Tionne, Jonella-Louise and Jaylah-Anne. Family and friends describe Livingstone as a caring man, easy going, hardworking and confident. His happy go lucky kind nature made it a pleasure to be in his company. Livingstone has left many happy memories for his family and friends. His grandchildren will always remember him with affection. His line “Is that mine?” He is survived by brothers Denis and Douglas and sisters Jean and Grita. ” Livingstone’s funeral will take place on Thursday 12th April at 12 noon in Union Street Baptist Church, followed by cremation. Donations are welcome to The British Heart Foundation.

There will be a gathering of celebration and remembrance of Livingstone at The Bridge Inn, Broad Street Crewe on Saturday 7th April from 7pm all are welcome.
