“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves memories no one can steal.”
Marlene sadly passed away on the 4th December in the care of Leighton Hospital, aged 80 years.
The beloved wife of Peter. Cherished mother of Stuart and the late Christopher. Devoted nanna of Laura and Emma. Also a loving sister of the late Joan and Raymond and a dearest mother-in-law and good friend. Marlene will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Marlene was born on Tuesday 9th May 1939 to proud parents Doris and Wilf Wright in Barrow-in-Furness.
Marlene and Peter married in 1959 and spent 60 wonderful years together. She was a housewife and mother, helping to bring up their two sons and always keeping the family home in order. She was a very proud mum who brought the boys up well and taught them to be respectful and helpful to others. Marlene would even take in students studying in Crewe who lived away from the area, she wanted to give them somewhere they could call home. She was also a wonderful cook and could make some fantastic meals.
One of the family’s favourite holiday destinations was Canada, so much so that Stuart eventually moved over there to live.
Peter described Marlene as being a perfect free spirit and home maker.
Marlene’s funeral will take place on Tuesday 17th December in the Crematorium Chapel, Crewe at 11.30am, followed by cremation.
Donations in memory of Marlene will be gratefully received on behalf of MacMillan Nurses.
