Michael Broadfield
“Our precious memories keep you near”
Michael, Mick or Snowy were the names given to this popular man whose family mourn today.
The beloved husband of Julia for 59 years and much love dad to Linda and Gary, also a cherished grandad and great-grandad to Craig, Dale, James, Georgia, Ollie and Samuel. Dearest brother to Jean and Gaynor.
Mick was born on Monday, the 19th of May 1941 in Richmond Road, Crewe to beloved parents Wilfred and Vera Broadfield. With his sisters Jean and Gaynor the family was complete.
Mick passed the 11+ and went to Nantwich grammar school, an achievement his family were very proud of. He was popular with pupils and teachers alike.
Mick has worked as a fireman in Crewe Works as well as a Miller in the main shop at Rolls-Royce. In later year’s he worked as a theatre porter at Leighton Hospital retiring in 2015.
Throughout his life he made many, many friends, in all the places he worked and socially. He couldn’t go anywhere without being stopped for a chat!!, it made shopping a long job.
As a steward at Crewe Alexandra for many years he was just as popular inside the ground as he was out. Besides watching football and a spot of fishing, Mick’s family by far brought him the greatest joy, his sense of humour was always close to the surface. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and always showed care and love for all those who knew him.
His Beloved wife Julia has lost her rock and best friend. It would be easier to name the countries they haven’t been, rather then the ones they have. Some of the countries visited where Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Thailand, America and not forgetting the Caribbean cruise and many holidays in the UK.
For Mick his most treasured moment’s where the times he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A family man through and through.
He retired in November 2015 from Leighton Hospital and he passed away peacefully in the love of his family on the 8th October 2020.
May he rest in peace.
Beautiful until we meet again dad sleep tight love you always ❤❤❤

- Approved by oconnellI was so scared, worried but excited all at the same time, but just to see your smiley face was enough to put me right.
I’m so happy and proud to be part of your Broadfield family.

RIP. It was always a pleasure to see Mick. He always had a ready smile and a joke and something nice to say about my dad, another avid Crewe Alex fan. A big loss to Julia and Linda. My sincere condolences.
