********************************************************************************************************************

Born on 22nd September 1966 Gary was one of three children born to his parents Dave and Jean. He
has a brother Steven and a sister Sandra.
As a little boy at school he was praised for his reading ability, he had always had a fascination for
motorbikes from a very early age and his teacher put his progress down to the fact that he read
“Motorcycle News” every week! That love of motorbikes would deepen over the years and they would
become the focal point of his interest.
He was a smashing little boy, he was sensitive and mischievous, he could get himself into the occasional
scrapes but nothing serious.
On completing his education, he decided he wanted to join the army enlisting as a junior leader because
he wasn’t old enough to sign on. But after a short time in uniform, he decided it wasn’t for him.
In his life Gary lived every day in the best way he could. He lived his life on his terms, but he found it
difficult to settle at anything.
He did not conform to social “norms.” He was not a rebel. He was not rebelling against anything or
anyone. He was a free-spirit who lived in the present, and again, on his terms. Was he a dreamer?
maybe. He was a strong character, he listened, but didn’t enjoy taking advice, but there was a time when
he could enter a room and brighten it with his smile, his attitude, or just his presence.
He made friends easily and was true to each and every one of them. He offered his support to many, but
found it difficult to accept that support was a two way street.
As children, Gary, Sandra and Steven enjoyed holidays with their mum and dad, family life was always
very important. They went camping mainly to much loved Welsh destinations. Their equipment was basic
and there were more than one or two incidents of malfunctions due to basic tents – heavy Welsh rain
and faulty tent poles – but you know these holidays were special family times and they are treasured
memories which are still talked about and laughed about when they reminisce.
Gary was Dad to daughter Lacey, who carries the name Harley as a tribute to his favourite make of bike,
and son Bob, who was named after Gary’s best friend who was lost some time ago.
We have to hope that in some way Gary and his friend Bob can be reunited in spirit and can walk their
path together once more.

May he rest in peace.
