**********************************************************************************************************************************

She was a happy go lucky person who never made a fuss about things when times were tough, or when life threw challenges at her she wouldn’t moan, she just got on with what had to be done.

Ann was born in Crewe on 16th March 1943. The only child born to Albert and Hilda. She took the well worn path from Brierley Street to Ludford Street before entering the world of work at Junitex.

She was a talented seamstress and her skill with a sewing machine kept her busy in and out of work. There were always orders for curtains and soft furnishings from friends and neighbours.

With a little money in their purses, Ann and her friends would seek out their own entertainment.

One night she agreed to make up the numbers and join her best friend Shirley and her boyfriend Malcolm on a blind date. The young man she met was John and it didn’t take long for Ann to realise that she was growing very fond of her blind date John. The feelings were mutual, and preparations were soon underway for their wedding.

They were young but they were determined to be together, they were married in 1966 and moved into their home in Carol Drive in Wistaston, a property John had bought even before a proposal was made.

They were blessed with a son Johnathan and a daughter Rachael. They grew up knowing they were loved and through the hard work of mum and dad they never went without.

In 1997 after 31 years together the world became a darker place with the sudden death of John. But Ann was a stoic woman and somehow, she found the strength to carry on as her beloved John would have wanted her to, she had an innate strength and resolve to make life as good as she could.

May she rest in peace.
