“You showed us how to love and smile”
Paula passed peacefully away at home on the 18th August, aged 67 years. The beloved wife of Geoff, much loved mum of Julie, Mandy, Colin, Martin and Ruth. Also a cherished nana of Aaron, Alfie, Courtney, Caitlin and Amber and dearest sister who will be so sadly missed and remembered with affection by all who knew her.
Paula was born in Edge Hill in Liverpool, attending school at St Annes, Overbury Street. With many brothers and sisters, her childhood was happy and fun. Her first job was in a household shop, later in the market and also for Littlewoods Pools. Her last job in Liverpool was with her sister Irene at Armstrongs, Scotland Road.
Whilst visiting her uncle Phillip in Wybunbury, she met her future husband in the late sixties, they married and settled in Crewe.
Paula gave birth to her fist child Julie in 1971 followed by Mandy in 1973, Colin in 1975, Martin in 1981 and Ruth in 1985. As well as her children (she loved children), Paula loved dogs and used to breed Pedigree German Shepherds.
She’s lived in around Crewe throughout her life, starting in Albert Street, onto Shavington , Davenham Crescent, Vine Tree Avenue, Beech Drive and Lordsmill Road.
She’s had many jobs over the years, from the Vine pub, Crewe Park Cafe and the Co-op in Readesdale Wistaston.
Paula was thrilled to become a nan and was passionate about the each of her grandchildren who gave her so much pleasure.
Paula enjoyed many holidays in the Isle of Man in their motor home, or to Llandudno, she had such a great time, loving every moment of each time away.
To those who knew her, Paula could be quite a challenging character with an explosive temperament, it wasn’t unusual for Geoff to be in the dog house especially if he was late home having been out for a drink. When Geoff used to go out for a drink it would drive her crackers, and Paula’s smoking used to annoy Geoff.
Paula has been ill for some time, eventually died at home (which was her wish) surrounded by her loving family.
Paula’s funeral will take place on Wednesday 29th August at 10.40am in the Crematorium Chapel, Crewe followed by cremation. Any Donations in her memory will be gratefully received for Dr Fullerton and the Macmilland Nurses at Leighton Hospital who cared for her so well.
