Peter John Brudenell

"Our memories build a special bridge and bring us peace of mind."

Date passed: 29th of September 2018

Funeral date: 15th of October 2018

“Our memories build a special bridge and bring us peace of mind.”

Peter sadly passed away at Leighton Hospital on 29th September 2018, aged 63 years.

The loving partner of Jacky. Devoted dad of Donna, Lisa, Peter, Lee and Jamie. Cherished grandad of Keeley, Amy, Aaron, Callum, Ricki, Ben, Connor, Liam, Chloe, Cody, Jacob, Ella, Olivia, Jamie, John, Ethan, Ryan, Joshua, Eliza, Megan and Charlie.

Also a great grandad of Zoe, Summer-Rose, Riley, Oliver, Rihanna, Layla, Ellie-May and Bridee.

All his family and his extended family loved and cared for Pete, as he did them.

One of five siblings, he was born on Canvey Island on Tuesday 14th June 1955 to parents Vivien and Joe.

His father worked on the railways and so the family relocated to Crewe. Pete attended Shavington and Brierley Street Schools and was popular with everyone even though he was a bit of a prankster.

Upon leaving school he worked at Tommy Moyers pig farm, Pete learnt many skills and found he could turn his hand to almost anything. He also worked at a chemical plant and a refrigeration plant in Shavington, known for a good sense of humour and hard worker by his colleagues who were often the butt of Pete’s jokes!

Throughout his life Pete acquired a lot of helpful knowledge and experience which meant he was someone good to turn to if you wanted anything from building work, to a new fridge. If he didn’t know, he would find out or roll up his sleeves and get on with it and always strived for perfection.

Pete would teach others his skills and had the patience of a saint until you became confident to be left to do things alone.

In 1973 he met and married Tricia and went onto have five children, Donna, Lisa, Peter, Lee and Jamie and lived around Rolls Avenue and Frank Bott Avenue, money was scarce with all those mouths to feed, but they had each other!

Pete would often gather all the local kids together and take them to the beach or Brereton Heath in his van and give them all sweets. He loved making the kids happy.

He would decorate the outside of the house with lights at Christmas so it looked like Blackpool Illuminations.

He’d often make people jump out of their skin and would try and catch it on camera meaning he had thousands of pics.

When his grandchildren came along, he loved to make life fun with them, always playing jokes and pranks.

He separated from his first wife but eventually met Jacky and they had 14 special years together as a combined family with 30 grandchildren and 8 great grand-children.

Life in Elizabeth Street was secure, happy and quiet. The grandchildren would visit and he continued his pranks and magic tricks by pulling pound coins from their ears.

He enjoyed cooking, his visits to Wales and the outdoors, the diary was always full and his camera a treasure of memories for his family.

Pete has been unwell recently and Jacky has cared for him until the very end of his life. He died aged 63 years.

Pete’s funeral will take place on Monday 15th October  in the Crematorium Chapel, Crewe at 10.40am, followed by cremation.

Family flowers only, but donations in memory of Pete will be received on behalf of the British Heart Foundation.
