Peacefully in North Staffs Hospital, Rita passed away on the 30th January, aged 82 years. The beloved wife of the late John Graham, much loved mum to Andrew and Karen. Also a cherished grandma who will be so sadly missed and fondly remembered by all her family and friends.
Rita was born on 25th July 1927 in Scunthorpe to parents Enid and Jim, she has a surviving younger Sister, Jean. Rita passed peacefully at North Staffs Hospital on 30th January 2020, she was a much loved Wife, Mother and Grandma.
Rita was married to Graham for 51 years until his passing in 2011, she is survived by children Andrew and Karen and Grandchildren Daniel, Jack, Abbie and James.
Rita attended Gurnell Street Primary School in Scunthorpe then St Mary’s Convent, Brigg followed by Gainsborough Technical College where she studied secretarial skills. Rita met Graham in 1958 and they married in 1960 with Rita relocating to Shrewsbury, Graham’s hometown, shortly after they moved to Crewe with Graham’s job where they settled permanently.
Rita spent most of her working life employed at Leighton Hospital in Crewe where she worked in a number of departments over the years making many lifelong friends who she still saw regularly following her retirement in 2011.
Rita was a very sociable person and she and Graham loved travelling, their favourite destinations being Italy, Turkey and Egypt. They met many new friends during their travels.
Rita’s funeral will be on Friday 7th February at Crewe Crematorium at 3.15pm. Donations are welcome to The Stroke Association.
To the lovely Rita who befriended me for 24 years as her hairdresser/friend..thankyou for all the beautiful times we got to share together come laughter or tears..you will forever have a place in my heart as you played a special part in my life..i’m deeply saddened by your passing but my greatest comfort is knowing you are reunited with your loving husband..the gang up there gains a beautiful angel in you as we have lost a beautiful lady..gone but never forgotten..
