Val passed away on 24th July in the care of Leighton Hospital, knowing that she was loved and cared for, aged 91 years.

The beloved wife of the late George, who she was married to for 63 years. A devoted mum of David and Robert. A cherished grandma of Imogen, Amy, Ben and Isla-Rose. Also a loving cousin of Harold Baker. Val will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by everyone who knew her.

Born in Liverpool on Sunday 27th November 1927, Val met her future husband, George whilst working at the Bon Marche department store, part of the George Henry Lee Group in Liverpool. She also worked for Dunlop, did Home Help, riding everywhere on her bike and worked in the canteen at the Signal and Telegraph.

Over the years the family went on many holidays, Val’s favourites included camping and the Shearings Coach holidays. She also regularly worshipped at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception RC Church in Crewe.

Her family describes her as being a caring and loving person who didn’t suffer fools.

Val’s funeral will take place on Friday 2nd August in the Crematorium Chapel, Crewe at 12.40pm, followed by cremation.
