Each night we'll shed a silent tear as we speak your name in prayer

Date passed: 25th of December 2017

Funeral date: 12th of January 2018

Each night we’ll shed a silent tear as we speak your name in prayer

Suddenly at Leighton Hospital, Les passed peacefully away aged 71 years.

The beloved wife of Peter, much loved mum of Jackie and Deanne.

Les was also a cherished grandma, sister and good friend who will be remembered for her tireless work for Crewe and Nantwich Cancer Research. Les will be so sadly missed and fondly remembered by all her family and friends.

Lesley was born in Lincolnshire to proud parents Janet and Denis Borman. Les has a brother David and they were both part of a close family.

At school, Les was popular with both teachers and pupils alike. Her father Denis worked at Halifax Building Society. This meant, the family moving around a lot in the early years. By the time Les and her family moved to Crewe she was 20 years old.

She started work at a ladies hair stylist’s in the High Street, then moved to Sheila’s Hair Stylist on Nantwich Road to further her career. After some time she worked for herself as a mobile hairdresser. Other jobs included being the manageress at Foster Brothers in Queensway and WH Smith’s. Wherever Les worked she became valued and loved by her colleagues.

Lesley met Peter at the 18+ group and by their first date at the White Lion in Barthomley, it was obvious that they thoroughly enjoyed one another’s company. In 1971 they were married at St Andrew’s Church in Crewe.

In 1974 Les gave birth to her beloved twins Jackie and Deanne, her family was complete. Together, the family enjoyed  camping holidays in the earlier years in and around St Ives and the Gower, then came holidays to Majorca and Corfu to name a few.

Les’s love of Baking and cooking came in useful when she became a member of a dedicated team of volunteers who worked tirelessly for Cancer Research UK in the Crewe and Nantwich area, a 20 year service medal was awarded to her for the years of commitment to this very worthy cause.

When she had time to relax, she enjoyed watching the soaps on television.

Husband Peter, daughters Jackie and Deanne, grandchildren Sam, Oscar, Amy and Brooke and brother David will treasure the memories of a devoted wife, mother and grandma, whose kind and caring nature makes her sudden loss much more painful to bear.

Lesley’s funeral will take place at St. Andrews Church, Bedford Street, Crewe on Friday 12th January at 1pm followed by cremation. Donations are welcome to “Crewe and Nantwich Cancer Research”.

I worked with Lesley when we where both at Sheila’s. I have very fond memories of a kind
friend and remember her good sense of humour. I’ve just found out my brother Joseph
took care of the funeral arrangements, that’s very special. I now live in Gloucestershire.
