Zak Finch

Funeral date: 5th of September 2022

“Always loved, never forgotten and forever missed.” Zak passed away suddenly at Leighton Hospital on 5th September aged 20 years.  A beloved son and much loved brother, nephew and partner who will be so sadly missed.

Zak Finch
Zak Finch was a very special young man who truly touched the lives of all who had
the pleasure of knowing him. The cheeky one who everyone adored even though he
was a wind-up merchant and loved to play practical jokes.
He had an infectious personality and a highly contagious smile, such a lovable,
good-natured lad who loved life but was tragically taken long before anyone could
ever contemplate saying goodbye.
His adoring mum Julie, auntie Angela – his elderly person as he lovingly called her,
cherished brothers Pete, Sean, sister Alice, sister-in-law Carol and Zak’s lovely
girlfriend Shauna shared Zak’s life story.
He was also a dear brother-in-law to Ange, son to Steven, brother to Katie, Amy,
Robert and Simon and had many nephews and nieces including Hannah and Daniel
and his cherished cutie, He was a much-loved nephew, especially close to Uncle
Malc, Auntie Michelle and Uncle Paul and cousins Claire and Rachel.
The number of people at the ceremony was testament to how popular Zak was and
how many friends he had, particularly those who were part of the famous five,
Jordan, Adam, James and Sam and Marcus who moved away. People travelled
from far and wide because however they knew Zak, he enhanced their lives, even
the lad who Zak made a complaint to in the Co-op became a good friend and tributes
have poured in from people of all ages and from different stages of Zak’s life, those
who knew him at school, colleagues, family and friends.
He was incredibly funny. A kind, caring guy who was always keen to offer his help
but renowned for being late. Expect him at 11am if he had said he would be
somewhere at 9am and he would have the nerve to say “is this all you have done?”
or even worse, inspect everything and criticise the job so far.
But he was never late for work – Auntie Angela steadfastly called him at 7.15 on
workdays and he would answer the phone with a cheery – “good morning, help the
aged, what can I do for you”?
He was an incurable fidget, never could stay still for long with somewhere to be,
people to see and things to do!
He enjoyed life, he adored his family and was a loyal, lifelong friend to many. He
was devoted to Shauna, he had a passion for fishing and would drag the poor girl
along with him regardless of the weather and she was content to sit with him
regardless.
He loved the motorbike he proudly bought and paid for whilst working for JS Bailey.
Shauna never rode pillion – in fact she wasn’t even allowed to touch it. The only
person allowed near the bike was his mum who used to sit the cats on it to wind him
up and he would always say, “they better not have scratched my motorbike!” He
was a Man U supporter, yet his favourite colours were blue and orange!

Zak’s funeral will take place on Wednesday 28th September at Crewe Crematorium Chapel at 11.30am
